Samuel Moore (1825 - 1915 ) Samuel Moore was the son of James Moore and Hannah Carter. He was born in 1825 in Enderby, Leicestershire. He was baptised on 30 Oct 1825. Enderby is a small town and civil parish in Leicestershire, on the south-west outskirts of the city of Leicester, just a few miles north of Aylestone and Braunstone. So far I have not located Samuel Moore or his parents in the 1841 Census but by 1847 Samuel was living in Welford Rd, Leicester and making bricks. In that year he married Eliza Crecraft who was the daughter of William Crecraft who had been living in Brook St, Leicester in 1841. Both of these streets are just to the south of Leicester City Centre. Welford Road Stadium is the home of Leicester Tigers, the professional rugby union team founded in 1880. 1851 Census I have been unable to locate the small street that was Brick Kiln Lane but it is not too far from Samuel’s previous address.
