Archibald Torrance (1809-1862)
“Archibald lawful son of David Torrance shoemaker and Christian Campbell in Alton was born upon the 27th last? and baptized publicily.”
Alton was a small village just over 1 mile north of Galston. It no longer exists.
Archibald Torrance married Margaret Reid in 1835 in Loudoun, Ayrshire.
