1841 Census David Torrance lived until 1843 and so appears on the 1841 Census which shows that David Torrance, shoe maker, was living with daughters Isobell and Elisabeth and son David in Union St, Newmilns. Next door but one his son Archibald, now married, is living with his wife and four children. Archibald is a hand loom weaver. Union St can be seen on this 25in to the mile OS Map surveyed in 1856 and published in 1858.
