Henry Rowland was described as a watch and clock maker in various Liverpool Trade Directories between 1821 and 1845. His location changed during this time as shown : 1821 - 1824 2 Hatton Gardens 1825 6 Cheapside 1829 - 1837 10 Maguire St 1839 - 1845 25 Maguire St The National Museums Liverpool created a database of watchmakers from census records from 1841 - 1891, parish registers, court and probate records, apprentice records and street and trade directories. It details the records of firms and individual makers and their families who worked in the Merseyside area with links to other parts of the British Isles. Unfortunately I can’t find it on-line any more. The entry for Henry Rowland gave the following information : Henry Rowland, St James (Toxteth Park, Liverpool) - married Elizabeth Owen 26/6/1817, St Johns (Liverpool) Mary buried 10/8/1818 aged 7 weeks. Thomas buried 28/4/1819 aged 14 days. Joseph buried 5/3/1834 aged 7 weeks. Charles buried 28/12/1834 aged 3. Joseph baptised 17/11/1845. With that information and additional research I discovered that Henry and his wife Elizabeth had at least nine children, only four reached adulthood, being listed in the 1841 Census.
