Eva Wilkins (1897 - ) Eva Wilkins was the daughter of Charles and Lucy Wilkins. She was born in Overseal and in 1921 married Frank Bowler. The Wilkins family appear to have been heavily involved in Calow Congregational Church (circled blue on map below) which was the venue for Eva’s marriage. The future home of Mr and Mrs Bowler, according to the newspaper cutting, was to be Inkersoll Farm. By 1939 they had produced at least five children and were living in Somerset House Farm, Top Road, Calow (red circle) with Eva’s father, Charles Wilkins. In 1957 Somerset House became a public house and operated as such until the early part of the 21st Century. Adjacent to Chesterfield Royal Hospital and just a short distance form the main road it served locals and visitors for over half a century.
