Reassuring evidence for part of this tree branch There were numerous Jane Wilkinsons in the areas of investigation so identifying the correct one as George Johnson’s wife was difficult. There were plenty of George Johnsons as well. The break-through came with the visitor listed in the 1891 Census, Mahala Blenkhorn. After so many common names this rather exotic one was a welcome change for a frustrated researcher. Mahala Blenkhorn turned out to be Jane Elizabeth Wilkinson’s niece as shown in the following diagram.
