Thomas Rowland Thomas Rowland was born in the first quarter of 1853 in Saddleworth. He was living with his parents at Ballgrove at the time of the 1861 and 1871 Censuses. He worked as a joiner. A year after his father, John Rowland, died in 1876 Thomas Rowland married Violet Ann Wood (29 Mar 1877). He was still living at Ballgrove and she was from Spring Brow in the parish of Dobcross.
