Thomas Nutt (1884 - 1948) Thomas Nutt was born on 30 Jun 1884 and would have been 20 when his father died in 1904. Just a couple of months after his father’s death Thomas married Mary Elizabeth Nutt, on 20 Jul 1904 at Ballyshannon Presbyterian Church. Ballyshannon is nearly sixty miles from Gortnaskea but Mary Elizabeth Nutt gives it as her place of abode at the time of marriage. Mary Elizabeth Nutt (known as Minnie) was the daughter of another Gortnaskea farmer, David Nutt. It seems likely that David Nutt was related to Andrew Nutt so perhaps this was a case of cousins marrying. Further investigation needed.
