David Nutt (1840 - 1916)
David Nutt was born 1840/41 according to census records and his death registration. According to his marriage record his father was Andrew Nutt a
'nailor', i.e. someone who makes nails by hand. It is possible that a blacksmith might also be a nailor and we have an Andrew Nutt, blacksmith-farmer,
in the records as living in Gortnaskea.
At the age of 27/28 David Nutt married a Catherine Ramsey. She was born Catherine Lindsay but married a Charles Ramsey, when she was 19, on
22 Mar 1866.
Charles Ramsey died in his residence in Lisbuney just a few months
later on 10 Aug 1866.
David Nutt married the widowed Catherine two years later in Upper Cumber Presbyterian Church.
