Herbert Dronfield (1908 - 1991) Herbert Dronfield was the middle child, and oldest son, of Walter Albert Dronfield and Josephine Dronfield (née Bagshaw). He was born on 13 Jul 1885 in Staveley, near Chesterfield. He married Olive Vera Smith in April 1933. She was the daughter of William Ross Smith, a railway guard, and Lucy Smith (née Ellis). Olive Vera Smith was the second child, and oldest daughter, of William and Lucy Smith. In total they had six children, including twins named William and Lucy who, amazingly and rather tragically, were born and died on the day of the 1911 Census.
