Clifford William Smith (1912 - 1993) Clifford William Smith married Edna Maycock in Bethel Methodist Chapel, Ringwood Road, Brimington in 1933. They had at least two children : Michael J Smith (b Q3 1934) and Margaret A Smith (b Q2 1936). In 1941 Clifford posted an announcement in The Derbyshire Times which suggests that he was concerned that his wife was perhaps making purchases and running up debts without his knowledge or permission. Two years later he files for and is granted a divorce. There’s a possibility that Clifford William Smith served in the Second World War. If so, and his service number was 7403479, then some interesting detail can be added but I have yet to confirm this. Clifford William Smith died in Q3 1993 in Chesterfield.
